KING KONG 2: The Return of the King is the sequel to king kong.wmv and the third video in the non-canon Attack on Kong side story. It is preceded by The Epilogue.
Synopsis
On July 20, 2020, the thumbnail for king kong.wmv changed to its original version with "4.1.21" imposed on the top left corner. The video was made public once again on November 2, this time featuring a new thumbnail image but retaining the "4.1.21" in the top left corner, this time smaller and out of sight when viewing the video on YouTube.
On October 31, soon after the release of The End.wmv, a new Patreon tier called "King Kong" was added. With a cost of $1000 and only allowing one patron to obtain it, it reads as follows:
- This tier only provides two rewards:
- Access to the $$ KING $$ Discord Role
- But more importantly - and possibly the greatest of them all - you will have a rap verse featured in King Kong 2 in April 2021. We will coordinate for either you or a special guest to sing it.
- This is definitely not a meme.
The tier was obtained on November 13 by Endac, securing his position as the $$ KING $$ and giving him a spot in The Return of the King. Endac refunded this tier sometime prior to the premiere, resulting in no guest verse in the final video.
The title of the video was confirmed by Alex Hall on February 3, 2021. It was uploaded on March 27 and set to premiere on April 1.

Description
King Kong undergoes a perilous quest to reclaim his swagger and save the world once again. This is the conclusion of the Shingeki no Kongu trilogy and the final premiere of 2021. It's been an honor.
Transcript
The video opens with Link stepping cautiously in a dark void, his footsteps echoing throughout the area. He pauses and looks around before continuing forth slowly, before transitioning to a jog. He stops once more to survey his surroundings before once again pressing on.
A voice suddenly cuts through the silence, causing Link to stand at attention.
"Attention, all Ben Drowned fans. You can hear me before you see me. And that's because I've got King Kong in the trunk."
A man in a suit fades into view in front of Link, who clears his throat before continuing.
"King Kong is on an epic anime adventure to reclaim his swagger. But he needs your help. He's gonna find that magic bean man, confront the The Father and save Sarah. Now to do all of this, he just needs, well, your mom's credit card number, three digits on the back, and don't forget the expiration date. But look - you gotta be quick! Or else Indigo-Gos might just own him and it's gonna be cringe!"
The screen cuts to static, interspersed with King Kong, Matt, and the man before a title card pans into view, accompanied by il vento d'oro from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. A title card that reads 'based off the original manga by Alex Hall' appears next, followed by pictures of Nikki (as Lulu), Hylian Juggalo (as Mikau), Matt, King Kong, The Bean Man and Laches (as Tijo). The pictures slide away to reveal Jadusable shadowboxing, before six more pictures - Tingle, Rosa, Jadusable, the Foolish Monkey, Ben, and the Professor. These six pictures slide away to show King Kong shadowboxing as well. Several grayscale photographs appear - one of King Kong's face, another of his torso, one of Matt, and another of Matt's legs.
A final titlecard appears, reading 'KING KONG 2', before a subtitle fades in that reads 'THE RETURN OF THE KING'. King Kong and Matt then appear behind the card. There is another cut to King Kong's face, who opens his eyes, energy firing from them as the screen cuts to black.
The screen opens with King Kong trudging through a desert sandstorm, a narrator speaking over The Dune Sea of Tatootine by John Williams.
"Desperation. It clung to King Kong like a shadow, as he continued his search across Termina for the Magic Bean Man. Every trail he followed resulted in a dead end. Every lead ended up cold. No one in centuries had been able to find him, and with every passing minute, Kong became more and more convinced he was chasing a mirage. Creeping doubts began to weigh on the old Goron. Why was he doing this? Was it to prove something to his fans? To the Indigo-Go's? To himself, even? Or maybe this self-imposed journey was all he had left. No one understands the mysterious forces that govern this world, least of all Kong, but he knew what happened that day. He was there, after all. He just couldn't understand any of it."
Clips from king kong.wmv fade in as the narrator continues.
"Almost ten years ago, an unremarkable Goron single-handedly fought off a malevolent entity threatening the very fabric of reality. He became a legend. He had it all. Fame, wealth, riches, a promising rap career, and plenty of Goron bitches. But, ten years is a long time. And much has changed. Now having lost it all, what was it all good for? What did it mean in the end? Try as he might, without his swagger, King Kong simply couldn't recapture the magic and was left an empty shell of a Goron. Desperately searching for a purpose. A meaning. Anything. King Kong never asked for this. Kong never wanted to be a hero. All he really wanted was to find a nice thick Goron gamer girl waifu and settle down. But now he had no Rupees left to his name. All the royalties from his rockstar years were squandered away in various Terminian multi-level marketing schemes. What little money he did make went towards alimony payments."
Clips from king kong.wmv once again fade in as the narrator continues.
"Yet another consequence of late nights at the milk bar and his exceedingly poor decision-making skills. He made one hit a decade ago. Was it really just a fluke? Was that the extent of his success? Did he even deserve it to begin with? Was he just lucky? It was time to find out, one and for all. For the first time in a decade, Kong was determined. Tired of living in the past, he knew he had to try anything to get his swagger back. Even if it meant setting out on an impossible quest."
The scene fades out, and the Milk Bar fades in.
Applause rings through the venue as the Indigo-Gos finish their set.
Hylian Juggalo: Thank you!! Thank you!
Nikki: You're all too kind....
Laches: Hey, you in the back - what gives? How come you aren't cheering too? We're the Indigo-gos!
Standing at the bar was Matt, who stared at the selection of milk on the shelves with his hands on his hips.
Matt: Oh me? I'm just passing by... checking out the local music scene.
Matt turns his head to address the stage.
Matt: If you're interested, I know a way to unlock your hidden potential in music. All it takes is acquiring the hearts of four children.
Hylian Juggalo: .... Bro that's metal as hell!! Sign us up!
The scene fades out, and fades back in to King Kong, who has collapsed into the sand, letting out a groan.
"Exhausted and losing consciousness, Kong laments in retrospect that a Magic Bean Man probably wouldn't be out in the middle of an empty desert anyway. As he begins to slip into blissful dreams of snow, rocks, and other things Gorons like, a vision appears and whispers to him."
On the horizon, the head of the Magic Bean Man appears and gesticulates silently.
"...like in that one Star Wars movie."
King Kong springs to his feet.
"Reinvigorated, Kong knows what he has to do and makes his way towards the Deku Palace."
The screen fades to black, as images of Jadusable performing a roundhouse kick, a Dodongo, footage of a Deku Scrub, footage of the Indigo-Gos and footage of King Kong mourning over a dead Deku Scrub fly by, before the scene cuts to the Deku Palace.
"Okay, there's a lot of filler we're going to skip over here, basically, along the way there's a tournament arc, a slice of life episode about a Dodongo, we befriend a magical talking Deku as comic relief, the Indigo-Gos begin sacrificing children, the magical talking Deku dies tragically, and... yeah we're pretty much up to speed, okay."
The narrator clears his throat before King Kong rolls his way through the palace garden, stopping at a hole in the ground.
"King Kong, having finally found the location of the Magic Bean Man, heads inside."
Inside the grotto is Tingle, floating by his balloon.
Tingle: A visitor!? We haven't had one of those in the longest time!
Magic Bean Man: I had a feeling you'd find your way here eventually.
King Kong slowly approaches as the Bean Man continues.
Magic Bean Man: Travelers have been searching for me for generations. Not a single one of them have succeeded... until today. Maybe a spark of potential still resides in you after all. It looks like we finally meet... the "Goron of Legend" himself...
Magic Bean Man: "...KING KONG."
Roundabout begins playing as a "To be continued..." title card appears in the corner.
King Kong expressions confusion.
Magic Bean Man: Has it really been so long that you've forgotten about our power entirely?
The screen fades to black, Majora's Mask appearing in a fire as the Chamber of Sages theme plays.
Magic Bean Man: Long ago, our world was thrown into chaos by an evil mask that brought destruction to Termina. But as all hope seemed lost, a young boy came and defeated it. But the resulting peace that came was short-lived. Years later, a child appeared. Despite his young appearance, it was a true demon. It was able to manipulate reality itself to terrorize us.
The scene cuts to the Elegy statue, whose eyes subtly shift to gaze at the viewer.
Magic Bean Man: We thought it vanished, but late one night as you left your usual dive bar. It came after you.
The scene cuts to footage of king kong.wmv, accompanied by a trap remix of the Chamber of Sages theme.
Magic Bean Man: It took on a different appearance, but it hunted you just like its previous victims. We don't know what it wanted from you, or why you were targetted. Like the others, you were transported to the top of the Clock Tower. We all feared the worst, but then something incredible happened. Suddenly, reality began warping around YOU instead of the child. You traveled massive distances in mere seconds. You gained incredible fighting prowess. You shifted your physical form with ease. In mere minutes, you effortlessly reshaped reality - deleting the child and saving our entire world.
The scene cuts back to the present, a trap remix of Ocarina of Time's title theme playing.
Magic Bean Man: Since then, I know you've spent all these years trying to figure out what happened that day. And I know why you've never been able to replicate that power since. You tapped into a power that only a select few of us have - and it's completely dependent on one's belief in themselves. I know you call it swagger... but the proper scientific term is Meme Magic. There aren't many of us. I myself have a very limited ability, but you? You stopped an interdimensional being through music... on accident. I know you fled Clock Town in shame, but when word gets back that you found me and that we're going to restore your power again... You'll be able to win the respect back of the entire town. Your fans will love you again.
A phone begins vibrating, as the music abruptly halts.
Magic Bean Man: ....Is that you?
King Kong checks his cellphone - he has received a text from joebotnik.
joebotnik: bruh
joebotnik: you're trending lol
King Kong: What?
joebotnik: remember when mikau stole your old gf a while back
King Kong: Yes...?
joebotnik: and you went on like a seven day bender?
King Kong: yes
joebotnik: well after the stunt you pulled in front of the Go Go's today everyone's looking for an excuse to hate you now
joebotnik: so some bomber gang kid went back through like 12 years of your tweets
Joebotnik proceeds to send a screenshot of an old tweet of King Kong's that reads "im not racist but how come every time you see a zora they always wet". #CancelKong is now trending on Twitter, and his Twitter notifications are blowing up.
King Kong puts away his cellphone.
Magic Bean Man: Who was that? Good news I take it?
Tingle: You know it's rude to text while someone is talking to you!
The narrator returns.
"Kong's victory was short-lived. Someone had discovered a problematic tweet that Kong made 11 years ago in a drunken stupor But it made no difference to the Twitter mob - he was now cancelled."
The scene cuts to the Mayor's office in Termina.
"To try and quell public outrage, Mayor Dotour issued a warrant for Kong's immediate arrest, and if deemed necessary, his public execution. Now a wanted criminal, Kong began training with the Bean Man to better control his powers of Meme Magic. At the same time, however, the mysterious Potion Seller had all he needed to open up a dimensional gateway to summon the Father."
The scene cuts to the Clock Tower's interior, where the Happy Mask Salesman lays motionless at the bottom of the steps.
"King Kong having finished his training returns to Clock Town and finds it unrecognizable."
King Kong descends further into the structure, pausing a moment before slowly making his way through the tunnel. On the other side is Matt.
Matt: Well, if it isn't the problematic, bigoted, cis-gendered Goron right on cue. I literally can't even with you.
The Indigo-gos lay sprawled out on the ground.
Laches: We tried to stop him with the power of music like you once did.... but he's too strong.
Matt: Checked Twitter lately, Kong? You've got some nerve showing your face around here.
Jadusable steps out from the shadows.
Matt: You remember your arch rival, right? You guys met during the Dark Tournament. We'll he's here, and inexplicably on my side now. You're hopelessly outmatched, no training from the Magic Bean Man could possibly elevate you to his-
King Kong fires a beam of Meme Magic towards Jadusable, cleanly knocking him down much to Matt's shock.
Matt: So maybe you have begun to reclaim your lost power after all...
Jadusable stands back up.
Matt: Too bad it won't be enough to avenge your precious Deku sidekick!
Jadusable and King Kong let out their war cries as they charge at each other in fury.
Nikki: They're doing *another* one of these?
Hylian Juggalo: LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Jadusable and King Kong perform flash steps before engaging in hand-to-hand combat, sparks of Meme Magic flying in all directions before time seems to freeze.
King Kong says お前はもう死んでいる (you are already dead) before sending Jadusable flying past Matt. Jadusable does not get back up.
Matt blinks down at the limp fish before speaking up.
Matt: Well... that was anticlimatic. Well, you might have had enough Meme Magic to do whatever... that... was. But you don't have enough to stop me. Oh and one more thing Kong.... I want you to know.... that it was me. I cancelled you. Thanks to the professor here, we're about to destroy the world.
Music begins playing as a title card reading 'ROUND 1' appears above.
Matt: ...What is this music?
Professor: If ze fourth wall is breaking zen zat means...!
King Kong begins busting a move, his once lost swagger positively shining through as he begins a dance-off with Matt, who does not participate.
Laches: He's... actually building up energy!
Hylian Juggalo: His swagger is returning...
ROUND 2 appears above.
Nikki: Could he really be...? Indigo-go's we have to help him!
Hylian Juggalo dons his guitar to provide accompaniment, followed by Laches, then Nikki, and finally Evan.
FINAL ROUND appears in the sky, along with GO KONG GO!! and FINISH THIS, KING!
Professor: Even ze text iz cheering him on... Zis swagger zis overflowing! Ze's become zupercharged!
Matt: Don't be frightened professor, it looks like his body can't contro
Before Matt can finish his sentence, King Kong erupts with energy, causing Matt to frown. King Kong then pulls out his drums.
Matt: Where did you... ...get that... ...INSTRUMENT?!
King Kong plays one note, and World άλφα explodes.
The narrator returns.
"And with a brilliant flash of light, World άλφα was destroyed. It would seem Kong's power was so great, it ruptured the very fabric of the universe. I guess the moral of the story is... uh... be careful what you wish for? Or... to be honest, I'm not really sure what the lesson is here, or what the whole point of this story was, um. Well either way, King Kong may be gone. But I'd like to think that a little bit of Meme Magic lives inside each and every one of us. Maybe we all have the potential to change our own own realities. Or something, I don't- I don't- I don't know. Happy April Fools Day everyone!"
