The Rosa intro plays. In between interference, several scenes show. The first is a clip of Sarah playing the Song of Time in The Truth.wmv. The next two are excerpts from the time travel scene that followed. The text “Dawn of the First Day -72 Hours Remain-” fades in and out.

A shot of Sarah looking at the moon above Clock Town in first person fades in. She looks down to the door of the Clock Tower, panning to the left as the dog runs by and following its path back in front of the door as it pauses and barks. Sarah exits first person view and turns around, walking toward the NPCs behind her. Kafei runs up the stairs toward the Laundry Pool. The carpenters move as normal. Sarah speaks to the one carrying a board, who says “Tsk! Is Brac working t’night? I’ve got to tell him about the dream I had.” As the dialogue ends, she steps away and targets him for a moment as he walks away.
 +

 +
Sarah speaks to another carpenter, who shouts “Hey, apprentice! Don’t just stand around lookin’ at the… sky. Why does this feel so familiar?” Something is definitely amiss. Running to the south side of the tower, she speaks to the man standing atop. “Why does the sun look so different today?” he asks. She approaches the guard stationed at the southern exit of town. He responds ominously. “I dreamt of oblivion… that lasted for eons. Now suddenly I’m home again...” She talks to him one more time, yielding the same dialogue. She runs to the carpenter laughing in front of the poster, who boasts “No pathetic nightmare is going to scare me! What a bunch of cowards!! Bluh-yek! Foo!”
 +

 +
Returning to the center of the area, Sarah looks back up at the sky. She runs back around the tower and continues assessing the area, focusing on the Clock Tower and two suns glaring down at her as they rise.
 +

 +
Sarah enters East Clock Town, and a cutscene showcasing the area plays. She looks around before speaking to the guard at the exit, whose text reads “The canyon at Stone Tower lies this way. Be careful.” She speaks with the Bomber Kid, who spouts the normal text. Seeing this, Sarah proceeds to skip through his dialogue, accidentally hitting yes and receiving a lengthy explanation.
 +

 +
She runs back to South Clock Town and enters the Clock Tower. Inside, Sarah is greeted with the unused Potion Seller NPC, certainly not supposed to be standing where he is. A cutscene starts, and he begins to talk to her. “Well now, you certainly don’t belong here, do you? Besides, didn’t #cc4a3e tell you to stop playing?” Sarah is taken aback. The camera cuts to a close up of the Potion Seller’s face zooming in as he blinks. Sarah pulls out her sword and shield. Ever static, the Potion Seller responds. “Relax. No need to be troublesome. I’m not much of a fan of him either. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen someone from the #cc4a3e.”
 +

 +
Sarah puts away her weapons and hears him out. He continues. “You’re a lot less reckless than the other one. I think we might be able to work together. I’m sure by now you’ve noticed things are a little strange on the outside.”
 +

 +
As Sarah looks around, the scene fades out to black and in to a shot of South Clock Town where the NPCs are acting normally. “The inhabitants of this world, despite being eradicated like cattle, mindlessly return to their programmed routines. Any memories of the nightmare they endured are merely fleeting - like a hazy dream not worth remembering.” The scene shifts to North Clock Town, showing that events are carrying on as usual there, too. “Soon, the last one will forget, because it goes against their programming to remember. And the #cc4a3e.” The text slows down on these final words. It fades to black.
 +

 +
The scene fades back in to the Clock Tower with the camera over Sarah’s shoulder. “But those “people” are only artificial. You could argue it makes no difference if they feel pain or die - they don’t exist. Not really, anyway. But anyone who’s seen what I have knows the truth - there is more than just mindless AI in this world. Someone like you can leave at your leisure. But what if I told you there was a #cc4a3e”
 +

 +
The Elegy Statue spawns behind the Potion Seller, and Sarah gasps. The camera shows a closeup of the statue’s face. “#cc4a3e.”
 +

 +
“He’s harmless now, just an empty shell.” The Potion Seller explains. It fades to black.
 +

 +
“He didn’t have many friends. All he wanted was to be his favorite hero from his favorite videogame. They knew full well what they were doing to him - he was their first test.” It fades in to Ben’s face in the bluish void. “He became a puppet in this world, unable to control his own actions but fully conscious to every minute, stuck eternally in purgatory. In the form of the #cc4a3e you see before you.” It cuts to a distant shot of the statue from the back and fades to black.
 +

 +
The camera fades in to a shot of the Potion Seller once more. “That is, until your predecessor glitched the world in a way that somehow broke Ben free of his terrible fate. He could move freely, sometimes even manage to communicate. But now that’s all undone. He’s back to being trapped again.” It cuts to a shot of Ben. “I don’t blame you - it’s why Ben gave you #cc4a3e The Father had corrupted what little remained of that world beyond recognition.”
 +

 +
Focus returns to the Potion Seller. “In your world, is there anything that you’ve found that could #cc4a3e?” Sarah shrugs and shakes her head. “...” It cuts to the Potion Seller and Ben from the front. “That’s disappointing… it looks like we have to try fighting The Father in his own plane of existence. That might be impossible.. unless you could replicate #cc4a3e” The camera switches to Sarah listening intently. “Even then, he can manipulate the very fabric of this world… But you carry within you souls of #cc4a3e in that mask.”
 +

 +
The scene fades to the exterior of the Stone Tower Temple, panning from right to left. “With that mask, you are an anomaly here, and The Father is surely already aware of you. He may not be as strong as he was before, but he will do everything he can to stop you now.”
 +

 +
Back at the Clock Tower, the Potion Seller talks on. “In case you hadn’t felt it, that mask is full of raging souls eager to finally settle the score. Let them drive your strength in battle.” The camera changes to a profile of the Potion Seller himself. “Time is of the essence. If you’re playing, then that means they’re likely going to try to digitize you too.” It cuts to a view from behind him and Ben. “While we’ve been speaking, The Father seems to be making his move.”
 +

 +
The camera cuts to a shot from the front once more. “Free us from this nightmare.” It closes in on the Potion Seller’s face and fades out.
 +

 +
The cutscene ends, and Sarah regards both Ben and the Potion Seller for a moment before leaving the Clock Tower. Outside, the door seemingly has disappeared. Sarah looks around before she is ambushed by Masked Jungle Warrior: Odolwa. Two, in fact. She pulls out her bow but is stricken by the one closest to her. She retaliates by delivering a few blows of her own, and the first Odolwa retreats. She shoots an arrow at the second, stunning it and slicing it a few times before it, too, puts distance between them.
 +

 +
Sarah runs for the exit to Termina Field. The guard provides the dialogue “The southern swamp at Woodfall lies this way. Be careful.” Thanks for the help. Sarah turns toward the festival stand, leaps onto it, and jump attacks the Odolwa in front of her. She rolls to dodge an attack from the other and baits it into attacking. Sarah dodges and fires an arrow at it, luring it close enough to deal a finishing move. Its death animation plays as Sarah looks on. One Odolwa down.
 +

 +
Entering first person view, Sarah looks up at the second Odolwa frozen atop the thatched roof of another stand with the multiple suns blaring behind it. She exits to third person and idles for a bit. She takes out her bow and shoots an arrow at its head, bringing it out of its paralysis.
 +

 +
Odolwa teleports to the ground and rains bugs down from the sky. Sarah seems to glitch out of the area for a moment before landing firmly in a pool of water and shooting at the insects heading her way. A wall of fire forms in a circle around her. She jumps to solid ground and fires an arrow at Odolwa. The fire dissipates. Collecting some hearts, Sarah gets closer and shoots more arrows at the creature as another wall of fire blazes. It soon disappears as well, and Sarah is able to get a hit in with an arrow. Odolwa reels, giving her opportunity to strike.
 +

 +
Odolwa recovers and jumps away. It summons a ring of fire again and leaps for an attack, but Sarah stuns it in midair and delivers the killing blow. The second Odolwa fades away.
 +

 +
Once it’s gone, Sarah looks up at the suns in the sky before entering East Clock Town. The video ends.

The Last Hero.wmv is the twenty-first video of Awakening and the forty-first video in Ben Drowned. It is preceded by Methods of Revolution [The Truth.wmv] and followed by The Moon Children.wmv.

Synopsis

Sarah encounters Ifrit inside the Clock Tower. He tells her that the world has been set to how it was before Jadusable performed the Fourth Day glitch, and that Ben was the first attempt at digitization, having been trapped inside the Elegy of Emptiness statue, a fate worse than death. Sarah resolves to defeat The Father.

Video

Description

Sarah - now armed with a mask containing the memories and strength of Ben, Jadusable, and others who have been forcibly digitized into the cartridge - travels back in the game world before the events of 2010 in an attempt to stop The Father once and for all. Arriving in Clock Town, she finds the game completely uncorrupted - a far cry from the glitched hellscape she escaped from. By some miracle, the hard reset had worked and seemingly everything has gone back to normal.

However, something is amiss as she explores the town and inadvertently draws the attention of another character residing in the code.
