The Predecessor.wmv is the twenty-sixth video of the Awakening Arc and the forty-sixth video in Ben Drowned. It is preceded by The Dying World.wmv and followed by The Showdown.wmv.

Synopsis

Sarah travels from Snowhead to Great Bay in search of the next Moon Child. After arriving, she finds that she can walk on the ocean floor and enters Pinnacle Rock, where she is trapped by the Gyorg Moon Child. Now invincible and unable to die, he contains her until she is able to escape the arena. However, she ends up in a white void, undetectable to Rosa and Ryan, and comes face to face with the predecessor, who wears the Zora Mask.

Description

With 36 hours remaining as the world continues to break down, Sarah heads to Great Bay in search of answers. Her journey leads her to discover a disturbing paradox.

Transcript

The introduction begins as usual, with intermittent clips from the previous video appearing alongside ciphered spectrogram messages. The video then begins with Sarah (as Adult Link) standing on a suspended, rotating snow block as a bell tolls moments before a Wolfos howls and the 'Night of The Second Day. -36 Hours Remain-' message is displayed. She is then seen falling from the air onto the snowy landscape below, taking no damage upon landing. She observes the altered landscape before heading to exit Snowhead.

Sarah enters the path heading back towards Termina Field. The landscape still corrupted with trees and snowballs being placed erratically around the map. She kills a couple White Boes before reading a sign that repeatedly calls her a 'MONSTER.' She then fights several White Boes and Eenos before finally reaching Termina Field. She takes in her surroundings before looking upward to see The Moon staring straight down at her. She takes several steps around the Field before looking back up to see The Moon has moved to keep it's gaze on her.

Sarah makes her way towards Great Bay's entrance and notices an out-of-place Hookshot Post on the side of the gate. She equips her Hookshot and uses the Post to bypass the gate. She takes one last look at The Moon to see it has moved a distinguishable amount to maintain it's stare on her. Then finally, Sarah enters Great Bay Coast moments before the video cuts to an exchange between the Twinmold Child and the Majora Child in a void-esque field...

• "It would seem that he's gone now, too. Absorbed into that creature."
• "Unfortunate. What of our third?"
• "Lying in wait. It seems that they're not going to Ikana after all."
• "They're not reckless, it seems. Does he intend to trap them at Great Bay?"
• "Yes. Regardless of if he succeeds or not, what are our intentions with the others?"
• "The predecessor? We wait and see what they do."
• "We won't wait anymore. Unleash yourself upon Termina."

The intro for Great Bay Coast plays with the trees glitching in and out of existence and multiple strange water barriers seen above the Ocean. Sarah makes her way down the narrow path before stopping to observe the Coast and seeing that The Moon is still watching her. She walks closer to a flickering tree before looking around once more as a Bongo Bongo murmur is heard. She walks towards the sea and reads a sign that says "Dan$$//¥¥¥===-er! K01efn$sc! SF$%"+||_ DRWN.~...#".

Sarah slowly steps into the Ocean, seemingly unaffected by the swimming mechanics. She looks at her surroundings before submerging herself completely with no penalties. She walks further across the seabed before examining her location once more, with the Bongo Bongo murmur appearing louder. She heads in the direction of Pinnacle Rock before a Big Poe spawns in front of her. She quickly fires a Light Arrow at the foe, which then vanishes and reappears. Sarah examines the enemy, in which Circle asks "What is this thing doing at the bottom of the ocean?" Sarah then quickly dispatches the enemy with two more Light Arrows. The Big Poe leaves behind a spirit as it dies, which Sarah slowly approaches and watches as it disappears with a sinister laugh. She then turns and heads towards Pinnacle Rock, reading the sign which says "Pinnacle Rock ahead. Beware murky water and sea snakes." She then enters the area.

The Gyorg Child appears in a grey void, saying to Sarah "Finally... You and I meet. But oh, what a shame, you're so low on health. This won't be fun at all. You dying here might be troublesome for me. I'm not sure what you are or if you even can die. I won't make the same mistake the others did. I'm not going to try and kill you at all. In fact, I'll even make you invulnerable." The screen fades to black as The Gyorg Child's last message appears "Let's run out the clock here, together."

Sarah falls from the top of the map to the bottom of Pinnacle Rock's pit. The text 'Gargantuan Masked Fish. Gyorg.' appears as the boss fight begins. Sarah floats up to a glitched water level within Pinnacle Rock. She warps up to Gyorg's jaws before falling back down. She is once again warped and spat out by Gyorg, landing within a Sea Snake's hiding hole further up the pit's walls. She attempts to shoot Gyorg with Light Arrows to no avail.

She is warped and spat once more to the glitched water level in which Circle states "SARAH!! We can't fight him in this area without a Zora Mask!". She teleports and falls again into another Sea Snake's hole, bombing the Sea Snake before being charged and swallowed by Gyorg.

It then cuts to Ryan and Rosa, with Rosa claiming "It's no use. She can't fight him like this." Ryan then suggests "Can you pull an item through the ether again? Like you did with the pendant?" Rosa then states "I can't... It's not letting me. I know what item can help... but I can't reach it." The screen cuts to black as Ryan asks "What do you mean?" Rosa then clarifies "It's like someone else is using it..."

Back in Pinnacle Rock, Sarah lands on a higher Sea Snake platform, bombing it's occupant before attempting to shoot Gyorg again. Circle informs Sarah "He's somehow made his outer shell completely impervious to arrows!" Sarah still tries to shoot Gyorg with Light Arrows and is instead attacked once more and spat out onto the rim of the pit. The video cuts to Ryan in the void exclaiming "Now's your chance! RUN!" Sarah takes this advice and flees out the area.

The screen cuts to black as Rosa asks "Wait... where did she go?" Ryan responds "I have no idea. The world is becoming more and more unstable. Who knows where she could have ended up?"

Sarah is then seen running through a White Void. She is briefly stunned as a flash of light occurs, revealing Zora Link. The two then stare at each other as the screen changes to say...
