Guide is a mysterious presence that serves as a game master for Ben Drowned. All of its posts are framed as if the events of the story are part of a game played by its audience.

History

Moon Children Arc

When Within Hubris was introduced on February 17, 2011, Guide was its administrator. It welcomed players to the forum, which had been intended as a hub for the various groups formed around the story, and presented them with an archive of the story up to the current point. Its original post has been lost.

Awakening Arc

On March 20, 2020, Guide began making posts on Patreon.

On April 29, the name of the author page on methodsofrevolution.com changed from "Find Your Method" to "Guide". The same day, Jadusable's YouTube channel and Twitter avatars were changed to Guide's.

Personality

Not much is known about Guide, though it appears to be a benevolent entity that seeks to provide players with the tools to advance the events of the story.
