This page will serve as a basic guide for creating and editing articles. Aside from special cases, the instructions in this article must be followed. It is highly recommended that you keep this guide in mind if you wish to contribute.

Given the relatively low size of the community centered around this subject (and therefore this wiki), this manual is fairly straightforward. Any questions, suggestions, or complaints can be addressed on this article's Talk page.

Manual of Style

Editing articles

  • Make edits in English, with exceptions including subjects that are named in a different language. Edits should be made using American English in order to avoid misconception.
  • Do not over-complicate the wording on an article. Use only the words needed to convey the necessary information.
  • Do not add speculation or ambiguous information to the main body of an article.
  • Trivia should be interesting, legitimate, and relevant pieces of information that do not belong elsewhere in the article. Speculation should generally be avoided, though certain exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis.
  • Talk pages are for conversations regarding article maintenance and correctness only.
  • One quote from a character may be featured at the beginning of their page. It must illustrate their personality and not be a quote shared by another character.
  • Do not add any information that has not been supported or confirmed by the works of Alex Hall. Any content produced by fans is considered non-canon and is not suitable for this wiki.

Formatting information

  • Capitalize proper nouns, including names, locations, and titles (where applicable).
  • Website URLs are not proper nouns and therefore should not be capitalized. The following should always remain in lowercase:
    • youshouldnthavedonethat.net
    • methodsofrevolution.com
    • eternity-project.com
  • Article content must be written from an in-universe perspective.

Character status

  • Alive means that the character's physical body has not died and they have not ascended.
  • Deceased means that the character is no longer alive in any way.
  • Ascended means that the character has gone through the process of ascension.
  • Missing means that the character's disappearance is noted in the story.
  • Unknown means that the character's status is not defined by any of the above.

Story arcs

In the past, the wiki has used improper terms when referencing the three main story arcs. The following titles are to be used, in italics when referencing them:

When typing the above phrases as interwiki links, formatting the proper wikitext can now be avoided by using the templates {{THC}}, {{MC}}, and {{A}}. As a result of these changes, the following terms are outdated and no longer in use:

  • Haunted Cartridge Arc
  • Moon Children Arc
  • Awakening Arc

The term Hubris Arc, which originally described the latter section of Moon Children, may still be used in its original context due to its historical usage at the time, especially by Alex Hall. Outside of those instances, its usage should generally be avoided.

Canon

Main article: Jadusable Wiki:Canon

There are three distinct levels of canon used on this wiki:

  • Canon, which describes most articles and their content
  • Ambiguous canon, which describes the Ryukaki side story, its content, and a few instances of content released in Awakening
  • Non-canon, which describes the Attack on Kong side story, the BroGaming Twitch streams, and a few instances of content released in Awakening

When creating a page for canon content, no heading template is necessary; canon is to be assumed when no heading template is present. When creating pages or sections for ambiguous canon or non-canon content, the heading templates {{Ambiguous}} and {{Noncanon}} should be used, respectively. If applicable to the entire page, it should be placed immediately after the {{Youmay}} template (if used) and before any other content. If applicable only to a section of the page, it should be placed immediately after the section header.

Real-life subjects

When discussing anything concerning real life, such as Alex Hall or other non-story-related subjects, the heading template {{Reallife}} is to be used. If applicable to the entire page, it should be placed immediately after the {{Youmay}} template (if used) and before any other content. If applicable only to a section of the page, it should be placed immediately after the section header.

Miscellaneous

  • Plagiarism is unacceptable. Content on this wiki must be written by its contributors unless proper credit is given to the original writer(s).

Talk Pages

In order to contribute to a given article's Talk page, click on the Discussions tab at the very top of the article. Please remember the following:

  • For new message subjects, always create a header. This can be done via the toolbar at the top of the page or by using the following wiki text:
    • == (Header name) ==
  • For replies to an already-existing subject, no header is required as long as you post under the correct header.
  • Always sign your posts. This can be done with four tildes (~) at the end of your message.
