+ | Good morning! As of today, February 17, 2021, it has been '''ten years''' since the original [[Within Hubris]] forum was introduced. Hard to believe we've been around for this long, right? If only Oldbris were so lucky.

Due to [[Alex Hall]] retiring the Awakening server earlier this month, hundreds of people were left without a central space for this community. As a result, Dawn of a New Day introduced a new Within Hubris server. This is effectively Awakening's replacement, but we hope for it to be so much more in the time to come.

This is an archive of all past announcements made on the main page of the wiki.
2012
December 3
This is a letter I should have written a long time ago. I apologize for having not done so.
If you are reading this, you have either stumbled across the Haunted Majora's Mask ARG through Google or StumbleUpon or Youtube or something similar, or have come from Within Hubris as a new or returning player.
The first thing I would like to state is that the ARG has been on perma-hiatus since July. The Author, Alex Hall, has moved on to another project for now, which you can find by searching for "Methods of Revolution" on Google or by asking on Within Hubris. It is highly unlikely it will begin again any time soon. The second is this: while searching through the wiki, you may discover that many of the pages are incomplete or broken, and critical information linked on the pages leads to broken URLs. This information isn't coming back. The pages will remain incomplete or broken. And I will explain why.
The main reason why this wiki will remain forever unfinished is because the first Within Hubris had a police report filed against it for "alleged death threats" and the site was shut down without warning. It was quickly re-created by fans but the massive amounts of information and theories compiled on the site have been lost forever. Some people managed to archive a large portion of the forums, but not enough in my opinion.
Within Hubris was the main hub of the ARG since February 2011. In trying to fix the wiki and complete it much of the information and links I compiled were in some way connected to the topics on Within Hubris. Archiving in a topic was much easier than trying to get it all on the wiki. And now, guess what? The information is gone.
I have put, in total, at least three months' worth of my time into this project, only to have most of it destroyed when the forums were taken down. And with interest in the ARG at an all-time low, and no one willing to help me with the wiki, I refuse to comb through the archives some fans managed to save to put massive amounts of information straight on the wiki. Not to mention I still hear many complaints about the wiki without a single person actually lifting a finger to help change what disappoints them.
If you are interested in the ARG and you come across something that's missing because of a broken link and you want to find out more, the wiki cannot help you. All you can do is go to Within Hubris and make a topic, or ask an older player who was there and remembers the information or event or has access to an archive. Unless other people want to work on the wiki then the wiki is going to sit here as it is, unfinished and incomplete.
I apologize for the inconvenience. If you're distressed because of this predicament, take it up with the police for removing Within Hubris and destroying our main area for the ARG.

A reply to the previous letter (below this one), and hopefully something good to hear...
This is CircleHunter, and I am your new admin. Immortallies recently agreed to let me take care of the wiki. I realize the ARG is rather dead, and that most of you have given up, but I feel differently about it.
For details about the ARG and the destruction of Within Hubris, see the previous letter.
When the original players read the story of Jadusable, it was only a creepypasta. When it continued with YSHDT.net, it was treated as reality. The players were saving lives (and killing the same guy over and over). Then, after Ryukaki, and the introduction of Old Within Hubris, it was put on hold. When that happened, the reality ended and it became a story. I feel that, if and until the third arc is continued, the second arc and what began of the third should be treated the same as the first.
Because of this, I have a plan. I may sound like a hopeless guy dwelling on the past, but I believe that what we lost when Old Within Hubris was taken down can be recovered. The good news is, I have found a way to see the old forum, however, not the topics. Also, I found a program that claims to be able to reconstruct the files from removed URLs for personal use. The downside is that the program was only developed for Linux, and I'm not even sure that it works. This is where it gets a bit more crazy.
A few months ago, I was snooping in the InvisionFree support area, and I believe I found that the original creator of the forum could request an archived version. The request takes time to be processed, but it may just work. The problem with this method is that Alex Hall, the Author, is a very busy man.
Not to mention, I have a few tricks up my sleeve...
So, in the meantime while I figure out what to do about our lost information, I ask that anybody who has something to add (canon, of course) please help. If anybody from before the ARG was paused has any theories saved on their computers, or anywhere, please let me know. A list of what I am currently concerned with is on the Theories page. Anything is useful.
Thank you for reading this. Hopefully you feel that the ARG is not dead, but at an indefinite cliffhanger. If you have anything to contribute, please do. Remember, if the ARG begins again, you could be saving lives.

Important notice: Please, whatever you do, do not edit quotes from characters unless there is a mistake. Just because something is grammatically incorrect doesn't mean that the character was when he or she said it. Please be careful with what you edit. Thank you.

Hello everybody. I am CircleHunter, the admin in charge of this wiki as of December 2012. If you've been here in the last two years, you've realized that this place has been pretty inactive, or attacked by vandals. I'm sad to say that, as an admin, I have neglected my duty to this place. What remains as of today, January 13, 2015, is here because there have been a few rogue editors out there who have decided to keep the articles in check. For this, I thank all of you who have helped out in our absence. UberTaco, TR1 and Immortallies built this wiki, and I left it to gather dust. Now, it's time to make a change around here.
Currently, I am gathering as much help as possible to make this place what it used to be, and hopefully even better. We're going to need help, though. If you are a current or past member of Within Hubris, and have a good understanding of the ARG, you have the knowledge to contribute. If you are new, please read the original story, followed by the summaries of Arc 2 and Arc 3, and do not edit anything until you have done so.
We sincerely hope you bear with us in our time of renovation. There will be some work done, and, damn it, we will make sure we're ready for BEN when he returns. We are all Link now. Good luck to anybody with the intention to help us out. Until the order has been given, please refrain from making large edits to the wiki. Expect my team to begin work within the month. See you then, everyone.
February 10
Hello, everybody. This is your captain speaking. It has been about a month since I said we would gather up a staff, and in that time I have been working with what free time I have in order to make that a reality. The fruit of that labor, however, didn't end up with much quantity. Luckily for us, we've made up for it with quality! We have two new additions to the staff: Wolfcat, and DanteSoulest. Wolf has been around since before myself, early 2011 if my mind serves correctly. Dante and I found our way here together, and we've been here since about May of 2011, just before the hiatus began.
I do realize that a staff of three is a small one, but bear with us. With luck, we will increase the number to its most effective limit. In the search for staff, there have been certain criteria I've considered when hiring (and this is the reason for such a small staff). In order for my consideration, you must be a veteran of the ARG (any time pre-Within Hubris takedown), and have a moderate knowledge of the ARG (an obvious one). Of course, I may consider a staff position for newer players in time. For now, though, it's restricted to the vets.
Now that we have a team, things can start happening around here. As with last month, there's still some re-working themes and colors going on, so if part of the wiki is un-readable (i.e. templates), it won't be that way for long. With that, I think we're done here. Welcome to the new and improved Jadusable Wiki. We strive to give you complete and up-to-date information about the ARG, groups, and players involved. Thank you for stopping by, and stay classy, San Diego. - CircleHunter, 2/10/15
April 23
Good morning, world. This is the captain speaking. Do you know what today is? If you don't, then you must be severely behind! It's April 23, the anniversary of a bunch of stuff. Ben drowned on this day 13 years ago, apparently Jadusable's birthday and that neighbor guy's anniversary are today, all that kind of stuff! If you didn't know before, 423 is a pretty big deal in this story.
On with the announcements! Actually, there isn't much in particular to announce. However, if you have the time, you can celebrate 4/23 on your own by reading and catching up, familiarizing yourself with the lore, etc. As some of you may know, this wiki is run by a busy college student and his two friends who have jobs, so any help here would be appreciated. I hope some of you decide to contribute your time to this wiki, we sincerely thank anybody who at least tries. Have a wonderful 4/23, everybody! - CircleHunter, 4/23/15
September 29
Hello, everybody. It's been quite a while since there's been significant activity here, and that's likely to be the case for the rest of this wiki's time. Won't keep me from tending to it, though. So, on a happy note, I'm going to plug a community project that's been running for the better part of a year by this time. If you make your way to this Tumblr blog, you'll find that an ARG, sharing many elements and community members with this one, is in progress. If you're interested, shoot the admins a like and you might find yourself part of the Internet Detectives.
I've got nothing much to say at the moment, but I just want to let any randos who may end up here know that I'm alive and this wiki is as well. It's going to stay that way. I've put too much of my life into this project to let it die, and if anybody from Old Within Hubris happens upon this place again, thank you for giving me your time. You're all beautiful and I love you all. Even if I hated you then. - CircleHunter, 9/29/15
2016
January 17
Happy new year! If you have been away from the wiki for a while, or have not been keeping up with our game maker's Twitter, then allow me to catch you up on some current events.
Alex Hall has announced, informally, that the Haunted Cartridge ARG will be continuing at some point in 2016. We have no clue as to when, as the tweet simply read, "2016." In addition to the return of the game, he has confirmed that there will be an "information dump" for new and returning players, in which we can catch up on certain key events in the ARG's history. The best part is that these resources may include information not present on this wiki due to Within Hubris' untimely demise. I certainly hope that my hunch is correct.
So, here we are in the year that our story concludes. I wonder what BEN has been doing for the past few years. Are our surviving friends still alive? Have the Moon Children completely vanished? Will Ryukaki's bike ever be recovered? Let's hope that our questions are answered. - CircleHunter, 1/17/16
April 23
The day has arrived! The story may not be on right now, but it is certainly alive. It is April 23, which is a pretty big deal around here. On this day in 2002, a young man named Ben was sacrificed by a sadistic cult. Not only that, but his vengeful spirit was sealed inside a game cartridge, which ended up in the hands of Jadusable. And we all know how that went!
So, for anyone who missed it, Alex Hall tweeted something late last year that confirms that the Hubris Arc will continue sometime this year. The hope that he is able to make this a reality is pretty intense, to say the least.
When he returns, he claims that there will be an "information dump" for new and returning players, in which we can catch up on certain key events in the ARG's history. The best part is that these resources may include information not present on this wiki due to Within Hubris' untimely demise. I certainly hope that my hunch is correct.
And who knows? Maybe he'll continue it pretty soon. Maybe it'll be after Methods of Revolution is finished. Either way, I'm looking forward to it, and in the meantime, this wiki will continue to be improved.
Happy 4/23, everybody! - CircleHunter, 4/23/16
June 23
Hello, everyone. In this time of unusually high ARG-related activity, I would like to remind you that this ARG's continuation will be confirmed by Alex Hall himself (most likely via his Twitter) when it happens, and that information will be relayed here. Some things may happen, and I'm not going to go into any detail, but I politely ask that when this becomes relevant, do not pester Alex about it. Do with this information what you will!
Yesterday, Night Mind uploaded a video that gives a pretty detailed rundown of this ARG. This video is the absolute best one so far. The amount of detail and work put into it makes the work done here on this wiki worthwhile. Funnily enough, there's a part late in the video in which he talks about the "How long until this blessing becomes a curse?" cipher, and the reason this is funny is that the full version of that cipher has only recently been added to the page it's found on. Just a cool cause-and-effect I've noticed, and I'm glad this wiki had the opportunity to be a small part of it! You can find that video here.
Just make sure you show appreciation to your content creators. They do a lot for the fans, and they deserve recognition for it. Night Mind pumped out a fine video, some mysterious dudes are currently running a related ARG, and Alex Hall gave us this game we're still waiting on still talking about! There are many others who have kept this topic alive on their own YouTube channels, so if you happen upon any, give them a shout and make sure they know how important their work is.
I hope you guys have fun. - CircleHunter, 6/23/16
July 5
Hello, everybody! I'm sure that if you're here, you are probably already aware that YSHDT is back up and running, but with some heavy differences. There is an easy explanation for this, and I know it's probably going to suck to read:
According to responses from his Snapchat (of all places, right?), he is not responsible for the revival of the website. However, that does not mean we can't have fun with this. Whoever is doing this has spent a lot of money and is dedicated to giving us something to do in the time that we wait for the true continuation of Arc 3. Just a few days in, so much has already happened, and it appears to be far from over. Remember to thank your content creators and show your support for them, it lets them know that what they're doing is worthwhile.
Now, gang. Let's go solve a mystery. - CircleHunter, 7/5/16
July 25
Hello, everyone. I'm sure that some of you may be wondering what the deal is with the return of youshouldnthavedonethat.net. The answer to that is slightly complicated, but we can simplify it by saying that someone bought the domain and is now using it to continue the story of the original ARG. This came as a shock, and Alex Hall himself has confirmed that he has nothing to do with it. So, for clarity:
Many people consider this a gamejack, and technically it is. But, since we're recently surpassed five years of downtime, why not run with it? As you may be aware, John Is Dead, a similar fan-made continuation of this ARG was started last year. Other, less related ARGs spawned by the community in the time since the pause include EVENT IMMINENT, which was unfortunately cancelled, and I Am 979, which started earlier this month. Check out the new Wyndstrom Wiki for information about it!
There is currently no other news. With that, I am off! - CircleHunter (talk), 7/25/16
September 29
Good morning! With the end of 2016 nearing, I've decided that it's time to clean this wiki up. This means that many pages are being backed up and deleted due to their subjective and speculative nature, and some may be combined with others. Categories are being revamped, as we are retiring the use of "Empirical" and "Subjective." Similarly, many categories exist that simply should not. On a similar note, we have recently introduced some groovy new character and video page infoboxes, with more on the way for the arcs, interviews, etc.
No news regarding the ARG's return has come lately, but two fan ARGs may be close to returning. John Is Dead and the fan continuation of YSHDT have both been paused as their respective GMs have been busy with life, but they have expressed their wishes to return soon. When they do, be ready for some crazy events.
If any events happen within a month, I will update this post with the news rather than making a new one due to the relatively important opening statement. Until then, though, we'll be hard at work to bring this place to its best possible state. Have a wonderful fall, everyone! - CircleHunter (talk), 9/29/16
November 20
NOTE: An archive of the theories that have been removed from the wiki has been created here.
Good evening! Due to the lack of news regarding the ARG itself, I will focus instead on what's going on lately with Alex Hall, since he's been a bit more active in the last few days.
On the 17th, he tweeted to Clive Barker, who is set to adapt the Haunted Cartridge Arc into a live-action series for Machinima, as was announced in May 2016. We don't know what it means yet, but it's kind of exciting to think about. Then on the 18th, he posted this photo to his Facebook with the caption, "On set. #Methods." It appears to finally be happening!
Anyway, that's all we have for now. Have a happy Thanksgiving! - CircleHunter (talk), 11/20/16

NOTE: An archive of the theories that have been removed from the wiki has been created here.
Good evening! Due to the lack of news regarding the ARG itself, I will focus instead on what's going on lately with Alex Hall, since he's been a bit more active lately.
Due to unforeseen consequences regarding Machinima's internal restructuring, the adaptation of the Haunted Cartridge by Clive Barker is no longer happening at this time. He tweeted this news on December 13, and details it a bit more in a Facebook post linked in the tweet. Now that this rather cool thing is not happening, some of us are now looking forward to his next projects more intently. There are 14 more days until he is set to make an announcement regarding Methods of Revolution, and 17 days until 2016 ends. I'm personally keeping my fingers crossed for at least something ARG-related within that timeframe, though it's looking rather unlikely at the moment.
With that bit of info out of the way, I will continue to update this announcement with further information when it becomes available. If I don't post again before then, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays of every kind to you fine people. Goodnight! - CircleHunter (talk), 12/14/16

January 8
Guys, I need to be real with you right now. Just over a week ago, on December 30, a young lady took her own life and livestreamed it for the world. Her name was Katelyn Davis, and she was 12 years old. You may be wondering why I bring this up, but according to this article and her archived online diary, she found some form of escape with the Haunted Majora's Mask story.
Katelyn seemed to be suffering from several things, physically and mentally. She claimed to be from an abusive home and did not have a dry place to sleep at night. Unfortunately, we have no way of finding the exact truth in what she said, but whatever she experienced daily must have been truly horrible for her. As the above article seems to imply, she found solace in her love for the character of BEN. She had read the story and become fixated on this character, seemingly using her fictional relationship with him as a coping mechanism. I can't say for sure that this is what happened, but I would like to think she derived some happiness from it before she left.
When I read about this for the first time, my heart hurt for this as it does for every teen suicide I hear about. It was painful, and I wished that it would suddenly become fake. Then, when I read the article above, I realized that this girl could have been, figuratively speaking, just a click away from people who would have welcomed her and helped her. Knowing that she had read this story and become so fond of it, it became clear that she must have known in one way or another about this community. Been to the wiki, or Within Hubris, or wherever she could find more of BEN. If she would have clicked the next link instead of the first, she might have found help. It's a surreal realization to have, knowing that you might have made even the slightest difference in someone's miserable life. I didn't write this story, I couldn't take credit for that. I did, however, write much of this wiki, and knowing that this is one of the main sites in the community, something I wrote may also have impacted her, maybe for the better.
I love this story, I love this community. I've been around for six years, waiting for the next arc, and have put so much of my time into making something I'm proud of. In doing so, I've made a point where possible to say that this is a fictional story. The characters are not real, and this has not happened in reality. While this is true, I am now thinking about how those words could have affected Katelyn. I can't know what she needed. I can't assume that those words would have impacted her positively or negatively. I do know, however, that she needed professional help. If I had known her and she had told me any of what is in her blog, I would have done everything in my power to get her help. A person's mental health, a CHILD'S mental health, is no light matter. I don't know where I'm going with this anymore.
I don't know what I set out to do, but I feel like, as a member of the community formed around something she loved, I am obligated to say that I'm so incredibly sorry for this. This story has had a lot of young readers. I've known them younger than 12, and have seen some that have taken it more seriously than others. If it keeps them happy, I continue making light of these kids' innocent assertions that BEN has talked to them or that Cleverbot is alive, or whatever other things they say. They're kids. They have such active imaginations, right? I guess, in most cases, this is true. There is no way anybody could have known of her need for help otherwise if she had only spoken online, and only for a short time at that. I don't know why I feel so strongly about this. It just seems somewhat personal. I could have known her. She could have been one of the kids that pop into our chatrooms every once in a while. It's a hard thought.
The fact that this girl thought her only choice was to kill herself is saddening, and from a humane perspective, appalling. No person, no CHILD, should ever have to feel like that. Nothing is worse in my mind. I've seen families mourn their kids, I've lost classmates that were somewhat close to me. I pray that I never have to experience the loss of a child. She had a younger brother. I'm sure she had a best friend, or maybe someone who she met over the Internet that enjoyed her company. Someone misses her, and there is no way to know if anything could have been done to prevent this. Unfortunately, it's too late to help Katelyn. However, we can do our best to help prevent similar things in the future. So if you or someone you know is struggling with depression and suicide, reach out to someone you know and love, or you can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.
Again, I really have no idea what I set out to do by writing this. A kid has taken her own life, and that's never easy to read about. I guess noticing that there is some common thread between us made it feel personal. If anybody that knew her is reading this for some reason, I am so, so incredibly sorry that this happened. I would love to speak on behalf of this whole community, but I can't. Only they can do it for themselves. Katelyn, I hope that you are resting easily now. I know you're at peace, and I'm sorry you had to endure so much pain.
And anyone I have ever met in this community. I've been here for six years. I've known many of you for longer than most people in my life right now. If you ever feel like you need something from me, or help in any way, I will do everything I can. Nobody deserves to feel like their only escape is suicide. I've said some things to some of you that I regret. You're all part of why I'm here in the first place, so please understand that if you need me, call.
Thank you for reading this. I know it's not much, and it won't be seen by many, but writing is the only thing I'm good at. I hope everyone has a day worth living. Please, be safe and seek help if necessary. I love you all. - CircleHunter (talk), 1/8/17
January 17
Good morning. A few days ago now, Alex Hall uploaded the first in a series of weekly updates on his YouTube channel, dealing with his upcoming film, Methods of Revolution, the continuation of the Haunted Majora's Mask Cartridge story, and, sadly, the tragic suicide of Katelyn Davis. You may read my comments on that particular subject in the latest part of our newly-created news archive.
In this video, Alex reiterates that Methods will be released in three parts, the first of which will be released on April 23 of this year. His comments afterward include how, for a time, he had struggled with depression, which he touches on again later. His second point gives a bit more information on what happened with Warner Bros. and the death of Clive Barker's film adaptation of the BEN DROWNED story. As he so subtly notes, it opens the door for someone else to "take a crack at it." Hmm...
Next, he focuses on Katelyn Davis and the tragic last week of her life. He doesn't say too much about it, justifiably since there is an ongoing investigation, but he did take the opportunity to reach out to those who may be suffering from mental health issues. I can only hope his words make it to someone who needs them.
At the end, Alex states that he will be conducting Q&A sessions with the comments on each of his subsequent videos. So, if you have a question for him, comment it on his latest video and if it doesn't get answered, do it again next week.
In non-Alex news, we have just introduced a new BEN DROWNED Fan Content Wiki, where fan works of all kinds can be listed and categorized! Unfortunately, many older works no longer exist, but many prominent ones have gone unrecognized for years. Fan videos, fiction, ARGs, and other related content will be kept there, so if there was ever a place for fan stuff, here it is. This wiki was originally created by Spirkiroid as another canon content wiki, but was left bare. Now, we can put it to some use.
This wiki, along with the above, are now part of a five-wiki network and can be accessed via the template at the bottom of each wiki's home page, because why not? Seemed like a good idea.
That is all for now, I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday. - CircleHunter (talk), 1/17/17
March 19
Hello, everybody! Since activity has seemed to come to a lull after the recent few videos posted by Alex Hall, I figured I'd take the time to address some concerns.
A spin-off of the Haunted Majora's Mask Cartridge ARG called John Is Dead has attracted significant attention in several countries in South America. This has caused a massive surge of activity, and I want to take a moment here to tell anyone who has just found out about JID that it is NOT CANON TO THIS ARG. It is based on this ARG, and is a loose continuation using several of the same characters, but they are not one and the same.
I would also like to say, as a member of the Internet Detectives and friend of the man running John Is Dead:
Also note that youshouldnthavedonethat.net was canon to John Is Dead from July 3, 2016 to January 1, 2017.
Nobody important sent BersGamer a game, that was never canon and never will be. If you have any further questions regarding canon, you can ask at the ID Tumblr linked above, or tweet me @CircleHunter.
That is all for now, happy March or something! - CircleHunter (talk), 3/19/17

The Jadusable Wiki is currently in a bit of a standstill, as is pretty much every wiki our staff touches. While we're happy to have new people coming aboard to help when they want to, it doesn't appear that this wiki can become any more complete than it already is. I'm not really sure where I was going with that thought, but it's nice to know that people are still interested in working on it.
In related news, our BEN DROWNED Fan Content Wiki is still pretty bare bones at the moment and if anyone is genuinely interested in helping any wiki, I'd be hella thankful if you directed your efforts toward that one. There's A LOT of fan content to comb through and catalogue, so any help there would be appreciated immensely!
I guess that's all for now, since no real news has happened. Stay groovy. - CircleHunter (talk), 5/10/17
July 6
We have a fan content wiki.
BEN's last name is NOT Lepine.
I don't know where anyone ever got that idea, but the name Lepine is not anywhere in official canon. In-game sources suggest his last name was actually Lawman.

April 23
Happy 4/23, everyone! Well, everyone that's left. It's a little late in the night for an update, but I'm giving one anyway in spirit of our holiday.
No, Alex Hall hasn't decided to return to the game yet, but we have a couple of little bits of fun going on. First of all, if you haven't been following JohnIsDead, then today is a good day to start. The Lunar Children are back and their site is now a message board for some reason.
And, something I've been hoping to get for a long time. Today, Wolfcat announced the debut of his new website, Meat Ouchers, the home of his (and guests') Within Hubris-themed webcomics! His first comic, Weenie Licked, was one of the highlights of post-ARG life on Within Hubris, and there's only more ahead in the MO universe.
As always, please check sources and make sure your edits are accurate to the established canon. Fan-created content does not belong here.
Have a wonderful evening! - CircleHunter (talk), 4/23/18
August 9
Hello, everyone! As of today, it has been six years since Within Hubris was taken down. Tomorrow will make six years since Newbris was born. And today, in future years, will be the anniversary of something new and special.
Today, youshouldnthavedonethat.net has become an archive of its original Moon Children Arc incarnation. Some of us never thought we'd see the day this actually happened. I have been waiting a long time for this day, and we have Tyler, the creator of JohnIsDead, to thank for it. The amount of effort, money, time, and probably blood that went into retrieving this site and turning it into something new has been huge. He alone is responsible for this site's return.
Finally, I personally want to say how much I love this community and this story. I have always dreamed of this moment. We have achieved what we once thought was impossible.
See you guys around. - CircleHunter (talk), 8/9/18

April 29
Good morning, whole five people who visit this wiki! A few things have happened lately.
Firstly, Alex Hall announced his new podcast The Digital Fireside a few days ago, and has since released two episodes. It's apparently a prologue to Methods of Revolution, so we'll see where that goes.
But the thing that made my night (and I'm still listening to this at this very moment) is that the ARGonauts podcast has covered this very ARG in their latest installment! Marn leads us on a walk down memory lane (well, not me lmao) and does an incredible job of it. For what feels like the first time in human history, the entire story is covered for a broader audience to hear and I am so incredibly thankful for your enthusiasm.
That's just about it for now, please check out that ARGonauts episode for a fresh look at the story from a much-needed outside perspective. I had never heard of them before tonight, and will definitely be taking a deeper look into their show in the future. Now let's just see them talk about Johnisdead...
See you guys around. - CircleHunter (talk), 4/29/19

Welcome to the new and improved Jadusable Wiki! I am CircleHunter, your administrator and faithful archivist. What you see now is a fully-independent database of this ARG's information, untethered and unrestricted by FANDOM. That's right, we're independent now! This has been a dream of mine for several years, and I'm thrilled to finally be able to share this labor of love with the world.
But you're not here for my story. You're here because, against all odds and despite nine years of inactivity, something is happening.
Earlier today, the above video was uploaded to Jadusable's YouTube channel. Someone is warning us. The description contains a binary code that translates to "32020," meaning that we have three days to prepare for...whatever it is that's about to happen. I'm equal parts excited and terrified.
8 years, 8 months, 1 day, 14 hours, and 8 minutes of waiting have led to this.
Are you ready?

April 10
Hello, everyone! I hope you're enjoying the new wiki, we've put a ton of work into making it as good as possible in preparation for the return of this ARG. Of course, we didn't think it would happen so soon, so our reveal date was expedited considerably. But this is neither here nor there, you're here for announcements!
First of all, we are now just over two weeks away from April 23. For those of you who are just joining us, this date holds a considerable amount of significance to the story, being the date of Ben's death and BEN's birth. So, what can we expect from this date? Right now, it's difficult to predict what's going to happen, but I have some ideas to throw around:
- We could see the identity of Jadus revealed. It's pretty explicit at this point that Jadus is not Jadusable, but at the same time, he appears to be extremely protective of his former identity. I wouldn't say it's likely, but it's there. My money is on Eric.
- Nothing at all. Imagine if 4/23 was a misdirect! Wouldn't that suck?
- You might have noticed with our three-day update cycle that 4/23 does not fall on an update day. It falls on the first day, which seems to be an odd choice for such an important date. But what if it's the Fourth Day? Something to think about.
The next thing I would like to show you is that this story is receiving more coverage from the ARGonauts Podcast, whose latest episode has revisited this ARG, this time focusing on the events so far in Awakening. They previously covered the rest of the story, which I would also highly recommend listening to. It excites me to no end that they've given this story the attention they have, and I can only hope that all our collective audiences enjoy what's to come.
That's all for now. The next update will likely be on 4/23, so hopefully we'll have something to talk about by then! - CircleHunter (talk) 00:42, 10 April 2020 (CDT)
June 12
Good evening, everyone! I hope you're all enjoying Awakening so far. It's been a great experience up to this point, and I'm pretty excited to see where we're going from here. However, there's something else I would like to talk about for a moment.
If you were somehow unaware, Nexpo has been working on this video for months and it is finally available to the public. In this collaboration with Nefarious TV, NightDocs, and MamaMax, he brings to life a cinematic adaptation of Ben Drowned that we have been waiting so long to see. And if that wasn't hype enough, it doesn't stop there. This video covers the first section of the Moon Children Arc, stopping at huntyoudown.wmv.
As you might imagine, I'm a little excited. I've been waiting years for something of this quality and for so much effort and care to have been put into this story brings me immense joy. Go show Nexpo and his collaborators your appreciation, as they so very well deserve.
On the subject of ARG story coverage, I would also like to shout out a few others. If you're in the Awakening server, you know where this is going. In the time since the last announcement, our boy Ryan Geever started a series of in-depth recap videos that quickly caught up to the current story's events. In just one month, he posted seven videos that will inform you if you're new and refresh you if you're returning. Or, if you're looking for something a little shorter in form, this video by Dawn is just over 10 minutes long and will give you a quick rundown on the Moon Children Arc and the events leading up to Awakening. This was created for use on our new Timeline page, which I recommend also checking out.
I think that's just about it for now. Again, huge thanks to Nexpo, Nefarious TV, NightDocs, and MamaMax for their incredible contribution to our community. Thanks to Ryan, Dawn, the ARGonauts, my fellow contributors, and all of you wonderful readers. I look forward to experiencing the rest of this story alongside you. - CircleHunter (talk) 20:41, 12 June 2020 (CDT)
July 24
Good evening, everyone! I've been having a wonderful time in this newly-revived community since the ARG's final arc began in March. We've righted some wrongs from our past, rescued beloved characters, and are now on our way to the final confrontation with The Father in his corrupted world. The final phase of the story has begun.
It is at this point that I would urge you to catch up in time for the final phase. If you're new to the story or would like a refresher, we have several resources to help you. First and foremost are the timeline pages for the Haunted Cartridge Arc, Moon Children Arc, and Awakening Arc. These are the most comprehensive sources and will guide you well if you're willing to read. If listening suits you more, our friend Ryan Geever has a series of videos that will bring you all the way to the beginning of the final phase. We are here to provide every piece of information you need to get a grasp on this story.
So, like all good things, this story is close to its end. An end we've been waiting almost a decade to see. Of course I'll feel sad when it's over, but there's more to this community than just the story that started it all. There are some projects in the works that have me quite excited for the next chapter of Within Hubris, and though I can't spill it all right now, I will say that some of us are working very hard behind the scenes to...you know what, that's still too much. Guess you'll just have to wait and see!
I'd like to thank everyone who's put their time into this wiki lately. Without your work and dedication, it would be a much slower process. It brings me joy to work with you all. Thank you to Ryan for the continued coverage, to the ARGonauts for their support, to Nexpo, NightDocs, and MamaMax for an incredible cinematic adaptation, and to you for being here.
Until next time, stay safe out there. I'll see you around! - CircleHunter (talk) 15:57, 24 July 2020 (CDT)
September 7
Good afternoon! On this day ten years ago, Alex Hall posted a horror story on the internet. That story grew and evolved into so much more, and is the foundation upon which this community is built. Without it, many of our paths may not have crossed, and lasting friendships would not have been formed. I just want to say that, from the bottom of my heart, I love this community and am so incredibly thankful to Alex for his contribution to the direction of my life.
Now, let's get to some news. This community's got just a bit of new content coming along lately, and I'm excited to share it with you.
- From the artists of Awakening, a new PMV titled Dead Hearts.wmv will be premiering at 6:00pm EST on September 12. It's a collaborative labor of love from a bunch of talented people, and the work they've put into it is unbelievable. You can catch it on Rosy's channel.
- Our boy Ryan Geever is working on the next chapter of his Ben Drowned Explained series, which you can find right here. We highly recommend any new fans use these as a guide if you're either unfamiliar with the story as a whole or if you're more suited to listening than reading.
- I have decided to officially reveal this wiki's new sister: Missing Links, a wiki for fan-made Ben Drowned content! We've already got a good team of contributors ready to help build it up, and hopefully we'll be able to bring her up to this wiki's level in the near future.
- There are a few TOP SECRET projects in the works, things I can't officially reveal to the public, but am excited for regardless. Hell, most are still in the planning stages. We've got some time before these are ready, but I feel the need to tell you that we've got stuff on the way.
That's just about where we are at the moment. Where continuing community projects are concerned, Johnisdead (which you can read about here!) has just premiered an incredible update, which I can only describe further by saying, "...whoa." Lots of smaller-scale fan-made stuff has been made lately, and that's just the sort of thing we're planning on filling our new wiki with. If you can't tell, I'm really excited about that.
So, I guess that's all we have for now. My friends, it's been a ride. Let's enjoy the rest of this story together and continue to create our own.

October 24
Good evening, my friends. I'm here tonight to tell you that the journey is finally nearing its end. Yesterday, Alex Hall tweeted that Ben Drowned will finish on Halloween. We have one week left.
So, I'd like to do something different here. I want to give the spotlight in this section to the people of this community. I could go on forever about the impact this story and its community has had on my life, but considering I already do that all the time, I feel it's time for more voices to be heard.
"Ben Drowned has taken me on a twisted, fascinating journey over the years. I'll never forget the people I've met, the experiences we've had, or the passion for artistic horror fostered by this monumental achievement in storytelling."—Laches
"Participating in this ARG has been one of the most fun experiences I've ever had, and I wouldn't trade the time I spent with the community for anything."—IIFan2001
"As BEN once said... I'm glad you did that. Thanks for the ride, Alex. Been involved since day one, and I'll never regret it."—Jasmina Barbuto Satterfield
"The first creepypasta I found at 11 years old, and I found it again 10 years later. Very happy to have experienced the rest and to have had fun with the Hispanic side of the community. Ñ."—Max, A.K.A. the guy who paid for Sarah's feet pics
"sinko peso"—Lucy (and the rest of the Spanish community)
"I think it's incredible how much better your life can be made in just a few months because of a silly ARG about a Zelda game and it's community, but low and behold, look where I am. Thank you Jad, and thank you to this community, for always making my day and giving me some great memories."—Funni/ManPersonGiraffe
"As a result of this story I will always equate the Elegy statue of Link with this ARG, and Ben himself."—NeganSavior
"I've spent ten years of my life with Ben Drowned, and it's influenced how and what I write. If it wasn't for ARG and this community, I would never have gained the confidence and friendships I have now. It's bittersweet now that we're at the end, but I'll never forget the story, the people I've met, or the experience. Thank you everyone for accepting me here, and thank you Alex for making something that could bring us all together.—Tikibuns
"For me, I kind of was always playing catch up. This story and game had been my life’s obsession when I was a teenager, desperately wishing it would come back so I could eventually be apart of it for real. Majora’s mask having always been my favorite Zelda, this story will have a special place in my heart for the rest of my days. Thank you guys for welcoming me in here at the end, despite my radio silence."—Endac (CorsicSeraphim)
"i LIKE T HIS Sstory alot"—Nikki
"this community has been one of the best ive ever come across online. all the friend made, the bigger and smaller events, despite things not always being perfect has been an absolute joy to be part of. as an artist ive gotten more feedback and inspiration here than anywhere else, and im very thankful for that."—kaisumisu
"This has been an amazing journey. I love all of this. The ideas, the characters, everything. This has been so great for me. This has given me so much inspiration to do great things. Thanks jad, for all of this."—SassySadie
"When I heard of ben drowned, it was still in Haunted Cartridge Arc, and I really was scared of it as a kid. MM was my first Zelda game, so seeing a scary story about it was awesome. Also, being able to interact with a community like this has greatly improved my social skills."—Gultykappa
"The ARG was a part of my childhood and affects me a lot today. Had I not been introduced to it, I would not have the appreciation for ARGs I have today. Good tidings to the creator."—Auderox
"I joined this server before the ARG started and was, before, so inspired by it. I’m so happy to have been around since the beginning of this arc and to have been able to help, grow, and be a part of this wonderful community as an artist and moderator.. There are things and experiences I would have never done or had without this community, and I’m excited to see it through to the end and beyond with you all."—Rosyfox
"I literally wouldn't be where I am as a content creator today without Ben Drowned, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you Alex."—Dr. Drew, PhD
"i cant believe im gonna witness the end. ive had so many fun moments and met so many amazing people in this community, i cant believe ive gotten so far even the creator himself follows me. i was even inspired and started modding majoras mask myself, all i have to say is thank you alex hall for everything. thank you."—glass von karma, funne man

"I have spent the past 8 months here with you guys has the arg played out, through all the high and lows I am gonna miss it. I hope you all stay around after it ends cause I love you all and consider some of you my friends."—Lego1upmushroom
"This story has been an incredible experience. One that subconsciously inspired my own style of writing and creativity from when I was a child to one that has entertained and captivated me with its brilliant narrative and community now that I am an adult. I am sincerely grateful and extremely emotional now that 'Ben Drowned' is finally coming to its close and can only hope for more works after it is completed. Thank you all and thank you, Alex."—Zedregex
"This was an honestly unforgettable spring/summer together with all of you - theorizing, decoding, exploring websites, memeing, or even just talking. However this ends, I'll surely remember it, and the people I met through it - and let's party like hell before it's all over."—Woodswolf (Cynthia)
"Thanks for this great universe in general, which allowed me to meet the ones that I call friends and many other great experiences. También gracias a »ustedes«, por siempre mantenernos juntos."—DensOwO/Iván
"I've wanted to see this story come back for years and to be there for it. But now, that it's coming close to the end of Ben Drowned's story, I don't want to see it all end. This and you guys have been one precious gem in my life this otherwise chaotic year."—GoofyG
"It's very impressive that the fan-girls who don't know about the rest of ARG still think that BEN is Link with bloody eyes . And this ARG has led me to take an interest in Zelda Series. Thank you, creepy statue from Majora's Mask and especially Jaddy Waggy"—fly_6
"I loved Ben Drowned's concept when I learned about it in 2013, and I've always wanted to take part in an ARG. So I jumped at the opportunity when I found it, and I can safely say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. This story - and the people I've met through it - have not only made my 2020 better, but my life better too. To Alex and everyone else, thank you so much."—[Shylenced], CEO of Sleep
"BEN scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. I waited so long for the arg to resume and I’m so happy we are here."—Lumik
"I remember stumbling across the 2010 arg a year late and regretting not being there to witness a story I loved play out in real time. 10 years later, I finally get to experience the finale alongside newfound friends who have inspired and supported me as a fan creator every step of the way. The dawn of the fourth day has been a long time coming, but we will greet the morning together."—Jay
"Ten years ago, I discovered this story. Ten years later, it returned, and brought me countless hours of joy with a community that I have grown to love."—Doctor C.
"This ARG will forever be part of my life, and I will probably always remember it. The story encouraged me to expect a new world after the storm, grow spiritually and not let evil cult leaders influence me (lol). I've always been a person that analyzes the world around me and possible literary futures (mostly dystopian/cyberpunk futures), so this really hit the jackpot in my tastes. This story also helped me a LOT as inspiration for future projects. I've empathized with the characters in this story like I've almost never done before. The feeling of Ben of being trapped in it's own cage, unable to act and unable to speak, just because he wanted to be happy and safe. It's a strange world indeed. But now let's talk about the core, the heart of all of this: The community. Many of us are lonely, a bit scared people who found confort in an imaginary world. I've met so many lonely people here who are willing to better themselves, grow up and face the problems. It's almost like a blind person guiding another blind person, but at least both of the blind persons are there for eachother, and that can mean a lot to some people, me included. I know I can't save people or help them as much as I would like to, but I can encourage them. That's probably the least I can do. I honestly thought I would have something to say, but I'm just speechless. I'm not very good with words, so I really expect the message to go through. What matters is that I'm really thankful. Thank you."—Lázaro (Dolus)
"Ben Drowned is a story that changed my life more than once, and inspired me to become a writer, a youtuber, and a runner of an ARG. This story has stuck in my mind for ten years and I'm sure it'll stick for ten plus more."—Ryan Geever, Attorneyatlulz
"When I was first getting into ARGs (around 2016-2017) I heard of the BEN Drowned ARG, I already knew of the creepypasta, because I read the creepypasta around 2010, but I didn't know there was an ARG. So to find that out was a large shock. I was disappointed to hear it was on hiatus. That remained in the back of my mind until March of this year when Jadusable's channel lit up for the first time in years, with in-game content. Immediately I knew it was back, and I finally had the chance to play. That is when I met everyone here. Not only has the community been the one of the best communities for an ARG, this community has had real-world effects on me. Although I had decoding/deciphering abilities, this ARG had really put my abilities to the test, and sometimes I came up unsuccessful. Although I couldn't participate in the ARG back in 2010-2011 because of my status as a fetus, I'm no longer a fetus now, and I'm thankful for the chance to play. Thank you Jadusable."—Rytikula
"I found Jadusable's channel a while before the Awakening arc began. I started to dig deeper and deeper into the story, read original creepypasta, visited forums and related websites... eventually I found myself kind of fascinated by Ben's story and amazed by all the things and events, more or less likely to actually have happened, that were caused by Ben's death. And then, just when I thought it was over and in the past, Jadusable started to interact with the fans of Ben Drowned ARG and allowed them to have their impact on the canon story. I'm happy I could witness it's further development happening real-time, but also feel blue, due to it approaching its end. I'm grateful to Alexander Hall for having let me and all the other players experience the game. I will be thinking about Ben Drowned a lot in my life."—JimiYoru
"Time for the endgame guys! I started this ARG back then when i was a little kid eating breakfast, spooking me out with a poorly edited drowned kid mannequin story! And now, on 2020, i'm a grown man who's still spokked with the same goddamn drowned kid mannequin story ft. Sarah from the Awakening gang. Thank you for all Jad, your ARG gave me a reason to live and now i can move forward thanks to that, i will be always grateful with you. Plus, love y'all Discord chat, you made my day everyday.
ARE YA EDITING JAD?"—MrRaiko
"Just really quick, this ARG was the most fun I’ve had in years; Although I’m terribly sad it’s about to go away, I am glad I got to be in it (albeit a bit late). I would always love the feeling of another upload that was about to premiere, and me and my cousins would gather around to watch it and theorize and draw conclusions. It’s been an absolutely amazing ride. This was the highlight of 2020 for me, in the midst of college sucking and family problems and all that other junk. I am glad I got to participate in this, and I loved BEN DROWNED since childhood. You guys are the best, I thank you for the support on helping me catch up and giving me the resources to participate. I’m glad I got to be in this before it ended. Love you guys."—Grayson

"I'm so glad I decided to join the community and meet all these wonderful people and friends. Thanks Jad for this story which is an amazing piece of contemporary art jsjjsj. I thank a lot for the opportunity of being a mod for the server too."—Lucy, but for real this time
"I've known Ben Drowned for quite a long time and not until this recent ending arc that I didnt know how deep this rabbit hole goes, and seeing that I could participate in this I didnt give that much of a thought. 6 months have passed ever since I decided to witness and choose this story, I met very nice people and a very good community that I think they are just a big ol family. so with that I say to this and to many more stories and ARGs that can make such amazing communities and narratvies such as this one."—Roded
"We fucked up."—literally everyone
"I originally found ben drowned in recommended in 2014, was to spooked to watch it came back 2 years later, watched them then 2 years after that I found out about arc 2 from nightminds video on it and then 2 years after I'm here now about to see one of if not my favourite arg end seeing it with a amazing community like all of you makes it even better. All I can say now is that this was an amazing ride everyone."—Johnemba
"Ever since I first heard about Ben Drowned in 2013 I have been utterly gobsmacked by the stories, the scares and the atmosphere. The twists and turns of this ARG have thrown me for an absolute loop. It's been a wild ride. And please "No jumpscares"."—MDGY2002
"I remember back when I first found out about BEN drowned and shared it with my friends and we were all spooked by the videos, but we never got much too deep into the other aspects. And then a couple years ago I found out about the Moon Children stuff and was intrigued and eagerly awaiting for what's next, and now the end is almost here and I just want to thank Alex for the entertainment across all these years."—Executive Koala
"Found BEN Drowned when I was, 12. It enthralled me in creepypasta. It's a major foundation of my creativity, an ever-present influence. I owe it so much.—Zog
"Battleben (name not related to BEN, also today known as wise wahisietel ) introduced me to this stuff a long while back in the 2010s decade. Back when we were playing Neverdaunt, he linked me to the moon children stuff back when it was live but I wussed out (it was ages ago). I felt rather regretful as I looked at the archives of the site but when the ARG returned I got to experience the site hunt for real this time, which finally put my old regrets to rest."—Doringo
"Thank you for making a creepy story in both text and video format of one of my favorite Zelda games. Honestly, it really gives a new sense of immersion, to be able to see what Jadusable was seeing (to some extent). I never participated in an ARG before yours in 2010 and it was quite the captivating experience. The interactive aspect of the second arc gave life to the whole story with all its chaos and albeit the delays along the hiatus, we finally get to see the end of it all (Maybe in more ways than one lol). Finally, I wanted to say that I'll be awaiting for April for that sequel to King Kong.wmv."—Ryu
"Personally I remember watching the original story when it came out and while I thought it was cool, it spooked me away from Majora's Mask... and peaked my curiosity about other Zelda's at the same time, making me into the huge Zelda nerd I am today. Final closing thoughts after its come back for its true finale are as stated: I've loved this creepypasta turned ARG and the discord that was created from it, and while it sucks to see it go, it's amazing to have seen it flourish into what it is, It's very bittersweet and I feel like there's a perfect sentence that has been repeated many times over throughout these past 101 years. 'Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory' - Dr Seuss."—FizzinPop
"The Haunted Cartridge arc contributed to making me a Zelda fan. Seven years later and I’m a walking lore encyclopedia haha."—Tien, Hyrule Historian
"Getting into this ARG that I could only really read up on after the fact at first was so much fun, thanks for an awesome time."—Fourze
"Jad is really cool. Writing stories on top of already existing stories is something that should be done more often. Also the server is very chill. See you on the other side."—Ghost of Kuribo
"Followed this junk a decade ago and loved it. Then last week I stumbled upon the fact it was getting updated again. Since then I binged out on all of the updates and info I could find and have been loving it all over again. Thanks for the funtimes and tickling the grey matter in such a fantastic way~!"—LV
I originally didn't plan on including every single one of these, but I couldn't bring myself to leave any of them out. I just want to thank every single one of you for being part of this grand adventure we've embarked on together. Though this leg is coming to an end, there will surely be more ahead for us. Believe me, there are some of us working hard to make that a reality.
Have a great week, everyone.

November 1
Hello, everyone. I'm here to tell you that, after ten years (eight of which were spent on hiatus), Ben Drowned has ended.
This is a day a lot of us never thought would happen. If you'd asked most people in the community in early March, Alex Hall coming back to finish the ARG was nothing but a pipe dream. Yet, here we are seven months later with what has been called the definitive ending to the Ben Drowned story. Somehow, it doesn't feel real.
Honestly, there really isn't any news to tell you right now. It's all quiet now, and I think that's exactly what we need for a while. Perhaps soon, we will see more from Alex. He's expressed interest in telling more stories, and you never know when those might pop up.
You have yourselves a good night. It's been a pleasure serving you all.

February 17
Good morning! As of today, February 17, 2021, it has been ten years since the original Within Hubris forum was introduced. Hard to believe we've been around for this long, right? If only Oldbris were so lucky.
In case you're new or returning, and as a result were not present for the Great Awakening, allow me to catch you up. Due to Alex Hall retiring the Awakening server earlier this month, hundreds of people were left without a central space for this community. As a result, Dawn of a New Day introduced a new Within Hubris server. This is effectively Awakening's replacement, but we hope for it to be so much more in the time to come.
You can join it here!
Outside of recent community happenings, there isn't too much to discuss. The upcoming epilogue is scheduled to be released on February 28, followed on April 1 by The Return of the King. After these two videos, it's anyone's guess as to what Alex Hall will be up to next. Well, aside from tweeting about Bitcoin.
I wish you all the best, and welcome back to our bastion of defense. You are our greatest minds and strongest warriors. Long live Hubris.
